BIOGRAPHY

CHRISTY CRAIG - COMPOSER, MUSICIAN - PIANO, VIOLIN, KEYBOARDS/SYNTHESIZER

Christy’s vision is to create an “alternative classical” sound that conveys distinct intense moods and emotions. Christy achieves this by combining her training in classical violin and piano, her live rock performance background and her love of the classical and rock music genres. Christy's early musical influences were classical composers, as well as, rock and alternative rock musicians. She started playing classical music with the Suzuki School of Music (Houston) and the Houston Youth Symphony as a child. Her favorite composers were Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart and Handel. As an adolescent and young adult, she gained insight into the rock genre. Rock music became a passion in just about any form, from heavy to classic to alternative. When industrial rock evolved, she became enamored with Trent Reznor’s industrial and heavy synthesized sound. Christy's main focus at that time was live performance with local alternative rock bands primarily as a keyboard player and an occasional violinist.  All in all, one could say the realm of musical interests and influences have been extremely diverse and is evident in Christy's musical compositions.
